You have to trick the windows7 computer.  Load the printer as a local printer attached to lpt1 of the windows 7 computer using the universal driver.  Do not autodetect or print a test page.  When done right click on the printer icon and scroll down to the first properties and then left click.  Click on ports and then add port, local port and in the box that comes up type in the computer name and share name of the attached printer.  Use the syntax \\computername\sharename where computername is the name of the computer the printer is attached and the share name is the share name you gave the printer.  Apply and it should work just fine.
